Position Summary

The Service Department Coordinator Level I position is responsible for providing a high level of service and expertise in the processing, customer support, vendor and inventory management and intra-department communications regarding service Work Orders. Other responsibilities include:

  • WorkFlow maintenance
  • Work Order creation
  • Work Order Tracking
  • Schedule Service Techs
  • Troubleshoot site visits
  • Liaison between customer / tech
  • Communicate with customers
  • Manage schedule & shifts
  • Distribute customer proposals
  • Track payments
  • DE / RE
  • Schedule and manage sub-contractors
  • Monitoring support and review
  • Customer communications
  • Communication & Coordination with Warehouse
  • Assisting warehouse in materials flow
  • Assist other departments as directed
  • All other duties and tasks as assigned

+ Field Marketing Specialist

As a Field Marketing Specialist you will be responsible for developing sales opportunities in the field through knocking on doors of private residences within a particular geographic area. In addition, attending Trade/Home and Gardens shows, company sponsored marketing events such as Concerts in the Park, and regional solar home tours and events. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be comfortable/confident approaching people to discuss solar services. The goal is generating leads and setting appointments with qualified homeowners. You will call into our call center to set up appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Learning and delivering a solar presentation to prospective customers
  • Completing necessary reporting of leads/appointments promptly
  • Attending company meetings as required
  • Maintaining constant communication with the sales and management team
  • Partnering with the Sales Director to ensure goals are consistently met
  • Sharing best practices and demonstrating behavior with team based on company’s core values
  • Engaging the team in continual training to keep up with market trends
  • Plans, organizes and prioritizes in an efficient and productive manner
  • Generate sales leads for the business

Compensation

Commission based compensation plan that ranges from $55K – $85K per year.

+ Commercial Lead Installer

Primary Purpose: Lead/manage a commercial system installation crew responsible for installing systems from 10kW – 1MW.

Education/Certification

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license (preferred)

  • Valid NABCEP Certification

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Valid OSHA 10 (30 is preferred)

  • Valid forklift certification (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of local electrical codes

  • Knowledge of commercial PV design and components

  • Knowledge of basic trades: roofing, carpentry, plumbing, and metal framing

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics, and electrical instructions

  • Ability to make field changes and communicate with Project Manager

  • Ability to test voltages from 10V – 1000VDC / 120V – 480VAC

  • Ability to manage up to 20 installers on one project

  • Ability to receive and distribute instructions

  • Ability to communicate problems to Project Manager

  • Ability to Travel up to 50% in a year

  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer safely

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment: skid-steer, forklift, reach boom, scissor lift, articulating boom lift, and skytrack.

  • Ability to fly a DJI Phantom drone safely

Experience

  • 6 years of commercial solar installation experience

  • +6 years of electrical experience (preferred)

  • Key decision maker on > 10 systems over 50kWDC

  • Key decision maker on > 5 systems over 100kWDC

Scope of Work

  • Clearly communicate start times with the crew.

  • Hold safety meetings daily, before any work if performed on site.

  • Organize a job site and keep organized throughout the entire construction process.

  • Install racking system per manufacture’s specifications and Freedom Solar plans on different roof types.

  • Develop field plans for wiring configuration for DC circuits and grounding of the array

  • Manage the panel installation per plans and local codes

  • Install DC and AC equipment per plans and local codes

  • Commission PV systems safely

  • Test system components while the system is operational. Report all findings/issues to the Project Manager

  • Assist in system designs and procurement for commercial systems

  • Work with city and utility officials to constantly improve design and install methods

  • Attend city and utility inspections

+ Residential Electrician

Primary Purpose: Install, maintain, and repair services and solar equipment on residential solar projects while helping to create a safe job site.

Education/Certification

  • Valid Residential Wireman or Journeyman Electrician license
  • Valid driver’s license

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and service requirements
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and basic one-line diagrams
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to operate power tools
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems with electrical circuits
  • Ability to bend ½” – 1 ¼” EMT
  • Ability to install EMT on a rooftop

Experience

  • 4 years of electrical experience
  • 2 years of solar experience (preferred)

Scope of Work

  • Install electrical equipment, complete DC conduit runs, and interconnecting the PV system to the existing service.
  • Upgrade customer electrical service when necessary. Panel swap, bus upgrade, install new riser and meter base, add external disconnect, and assessing the existing services for code compliance.
  • System testing – Voltage, amperage, and power tests for each system.
  • Complete commissioning and inspection checklists.
  • Attend city and utility inspections.
  • Support service work orders as needed.
